PON POWER NEWS  FEBRUARY 2019

Things are developing rapidly – sustainable energy has now become an important part of our business.

Caterpillar offers various sustainable solutions. Engines and generators running on fossil fuels are subject to strict environmental requirements, for instance with regard to CO2 emissions. Caterpillar offers a range of solutions to enable its customers to meet these requirements, now and in the future. For example, Caterpillar offers the option of using up to 100% HVO in your Cat engines. In addition, Caterpillar develops engines and generator sets with catalytic converters and particulate filters that reduce NOx and particulate emissions to within the set emission requirements. To meet these stricter requirements, it is necessary to equip the Cat engine and/or exhaust system with additional components. These modifications often require extra physical space, making it more complex to install the engines. Our engineers are happy to help you find solutions. In this edition of Motorennieuws magazine you will find out more about how we resolved just such a challenge in the article "Amels installs first IMO III engines in superyacht."

But we do more than just offer cleaner engines and generators. Last year, Pon Power also directed its focus on alternative energy sources, including solar energy. In this edition, we are proud to introduce you to our first project in greenhouse horticulture and show you how this project was implemented.

I hope you enjoy reading this new edition of Motorennieuws magazine.

It won’t have escaped your notice that the energy transition is making itself felt more and more. This presents challenges, but also opportunities. Last year, we announced that Pon Power would start exploring the possibilities of sustainable energy solutions.
