MOOI ZWART GEHEEL

IT WAS AN IMMEDIATE SUCCESS

Maru Systems is proof of the fact that at times, things can go very fast. The company was set up in 2007 as a firm of fitters and over the years, it specialised in saving energy and energy engineering. Things were going really well when in 2017, the company truly gained momentum. Business Manager Ryan Collé explains: ‘Three years ago, we were thinking about how to make construction sites sustainable. We then developed the concept for De Groene Aggregaat. It was an immediate success and the end thereof is not yet in sight. The public profile of De Groene Aggregaat has already exceeded that of Maru Systems.’

Everyone, in the construction industry but also at events, in urban regeneration, temporary accommodation and, really, every occasion that requires temporary power aims to reduce the carbon footprint. Maru Systems International from Zuidoostbeemster came up with the perfect solution, the so-called De Groene Aggregaat. This hybrid concept makes it possible to achieve CO2 and fuel savings up to 95%. Pon Power News went to have a look in Zuidoostbeemster and found out that tomorrow's hybrid sustainable power solution already exists.

MOBILE, OFF-GRID POWER SOLUTION

De Groene Aggregaat is a mobile, off-grid power solution. The package consists of a 10 or a 20-feet container with solar panels on top and a battery pack inside, linked to a generator set. The solar panels can be electrically collapsed, which means the unit is ready to supply power within one minute of installation. The battery pack can be charged by means of solar energy. In practice, this hybrid solution can achieve CO2 and fuel savings of up to 95%.

From the Noord-Zuidlijn that runs to Schiphol to Rotterdam Port Authority, De Groene Aggregaat is used everywhere. Because of the concept’s incredible success, Collé and his team are getting ready to take the European market by storm. In order to be able to offer customers from abroad the same service and reliability, Maru Systems recently opted for Caterpillar after an extensive orientation process. In the next two years, no fewer than 95 units will be built, all fitted with a Cat C4.4 EU-stage III generator set.

SERVICE COVERAGE OF 98%

Ryan Collé explains: ‘The reliability and service proposition of Caterpillar and the fact that the engines can run on HVO fuel were the decisive factors. A service coverage of 98% of Europe within 24 hours, that’s definitely added value for our customers.’
