Changes organization Pon Power
We would like to inform you about changes that have taken place within Pon Power and the Pon organization.
Pon is an important player in the field of energy solutions for, among others, the maritime sector and it is necessary for Pon to accelerate innovation. Think of digitization and the energy transition that we are now dealing with. At the same time, we want to (continue to) offer you the best customer experience. Simplifying the Pon organization is a logical consequence of all these developments, which will be accelerated by the Corona crisis.
In order to continue to respond to the changing market demand, we will integrate the sale of new MaK engines (until now this was done via Bolier) with the sales team of Pon Power Netherlands. By joining forces, we expect to be able to better answer more complex customer demands. The Bolier sales team will have a physical office at Pon Power in Papendrecht, led by Director Power & Propulsion Products - Jochem Neuteboom. Pon Power's portfolio now includes Cat engines and generator sets, MaK engines and generator sets, Berg (adjustable) propellers and thrusters and Cat Solar panels.
Service en Parts
Pon Power continues to focus on the service and parts supply of Cat engines & solutions. Bolier will fully focus on the service and parts delivery of MaK engines and Berg propulsion products. Olaf Lokhorst will become the General Manager of Bolier.
Within Pon Power Netherlands, in addition to the sale of new engines and service & parts, a special team will be set up that focuses on putting together (new) solutions for selected market segments. This includes combined heat and power installations for horticulture and hospitals, power packs for driving piling and drilling machines, critical power for data centers, containerized generation installations for off-grid food in Africa. This team will be headed by Director Power & Propulsion Solutions Arnold den Boon. Project managers and Engineers from Topec will move to Pon Power.
In daily contact with regard to the sale and project management of new construction projects you will largely retain your permanent contact person. In time, all new agreements will be concluded with Pon Power Netherlands.
Pon Power & Bolier remain unchanged to maintain their core values: personal, flexible with high quality and accessibility for you. Pon Power remains your point of contact for maintenance and parts deliveries to your Cat installation. For service and parts questions regarding MaK engines and Berg Propulsion, Bolier will remain your permanent contact. The Bolier service team is still located at the Bolier office in Dordrecht.

Service
With the merger of the Topec and Pon Power teams, Topec will gradually be phased out. Production and Assembly activities of Topec are outsourced to specialized companies.
These adjustments give us the opportunity to continue to invest in the future and in solutions that add value for you and your business. For example, we continue to focus on the further development of power packs and hybrid solutions.

Propulsion
Cat Propulsion sold to Gula Skrinet AB and is now called Berg Propulsion
Earlier this year, Caterpillar reached an agreement with Gula Skrinet AB to sell Caterpillar Propulsion AB. The products and services now bear the Berg Propulsion brand name.
Pon Power remains committed to the propulsion industry and remains the first point of contact for the sale of Berg propulsion systems. Maintenance will continue to be carried out by Bolier.
The reason to sell Caterpillar Propulsion to Gula Skrinet AB is to maintain continuity with Caterpillar customers and dealers and to position the company with an owner who already knows the business and the industry. Gula Skrinet AB is a company led by the previous COO and shareholder of the former Berg Propulsion AB. The owner has extensive experience and a thorough understanding of the global maritime industry. Caterpillar intends to maintain a close business relationship with the divested business, supporting both MaK and Cat marine sales.

Pon Power announced the release of the new Cat® C32B Triple Turbo high-performance marine engine. This new engine, that builds on the proven robust and industry leading C32 platform, offers both potency and comfort. With its upgraded core engine, sequential turbo charging and increased cooling capability, the C32B 3-Turbo is ideal for a wide range of applications, from yachting to commercial and governmental. The Cat C32B Triple Turbo engine will be available to order in late 2021.

New product line of Cat GC diesel generator sets are ex-factory, complete and ready to use

According to Dennis van Tol, Account Manager Industrial Power Systems at Pon Power, the introduction of the new GC line was a logical step. He explains: “In essence, the starting point is that an emergency power system is not or hardly ever used. Owners and users are therefore not looking for a product with all kinds of options and extras, but for a solution that offers security and peace of mind at the best possible price. A product that meets all expectations, but does not exceed them from a cost point of view. This high-quality line was developed precisely for this reason. ”
With the new product line of Cat GC diesel generator sets, Pon Power is making a Caterpillar emergency power solution available to many more customers. At a price level comparable to low-cost emergency power products, this new product line makes the quality and reliability of a Caterpillar product accessible to a very wide range of users. The models from 33 to 220 kVA will be available this year and can be ordered immediately. The higher powers will follow later. The GC line can be used for all possible standby emergency power applications.
